The Catholic Vision for Leading Like Jesus

Dear Friends in Christ,

Do you need an UNREP? The answer is Yes, we all do!

When I was in the United States Navy I served aboard the Aircraft Carrier, USS Forrestal, CVA-59. We planned and scheduled UNREPs on a regular basis.

UNREP means “Underway Replenishment." It’s a method of transferring necessary supplies -- such as, fuel, food, clothing, medical supplies, even ammunition -- from one ship to another ship while both ships are underway, that is, moving forward.

UNREPs were vital in order for us to sustain and execute our mission.

As Christians each one of us needs to plan regular daily UNREPs from our Lord Jesus through the Holy Spirit. Why? Because life, with all of its challenges, does not stop, no matter where we are or where we live.

We need to keep moving forward with Christ’s fuel and supplies, not just relying on our own diminishing resources.

Here are some UNREP scriptures that will help you with your journey as you are underway -- moving forward – in life. Plan to set aside a planned time to receive an UNREP, asking Jesus what your specific UNREP needs are on a daily basis.

  • Peace -- Philippians 4:-6-7, 1 Peter 5:7.
  • Joy -- Galatians 5:22, Romans 12:12.
  • Faith -- John 16:24, Matthew 7:7,
  • Courage -- Joshua 1:9, Psalm 27: 14.
  • God’s Loving Encouragement -- Psalm 139.
  • Obedience to God’s Will -- John.2-5.

God Bless you and yours always.
